New PRs were the focal point for Richmond track athletes as both teams finished in 8th place at Saturday’s Marion Relays meet.
“We have a lot of work to do,” said Coach Hunter Lambright. “We’re seeing a lot of individual successes, which tells us we’re on the right track.”
Junior Jermayne Stanley put up a personal best of 11.16 seconds in his fourth place finish in the 100 meter dash, and freshman Gage Puterbaugh made his outdoor high school debut with a 100 meter dash time of 11.56 seconds.
Personal records were also on display in the field events. Seniors Riley Austin and Lindsey Griffin battled the elements to finish with personal records of 5’0″ and 4’10”, respectively. Senior Kody Reece also finished with a PR of 19’11” in his fifth-place long jump finish.
Other top performances for the Devils came in a second-place finish for Austin in the long jump with her 16’1″ jump and for senior Colton Davis in shot put with a second-place throw of 44’11”.
The Red Devils return to action this Friday in Eaton at the Dean Stoltz Invitational.
