Richmond struggled to find its footing in the meet against Muncie Central on Tuesday night.
Standout individual performances came in first-place finishes for senior Taylor Burden in shot put, sophomore Lauren Carr in discus, senior Riley Austin in long jump and the 200 meter dash. The 4×100 meter relay of senior Lindsey Griffin, Austin, sophomore Jazman Moore, and freshman Aaliyah Porfidio-Brown also took home first place.
On the boys side, top performances came with first-place finishes in the 4×100 meter relay consisting of senior Kody Reece, freshman Gage Puterbaugh, sophomore Jewell Taylor, and junior Jermayne Stanley. Reece also took home first place in the long jump, while sophomore Teddy Sumling won the 200 meter dash. On the distance side, sophomore Josh Jones won the 3200 meter run. And finally, in the last race of the night, the 4×400 meter relay of junior Alec Snedigar, sophomore Vincent Narcisse, senior Derick Casiano, and junior Julian Holguin took home blue ribbons.
Both teams return to action on Thursday night at 5:00 PM at the first home meet of the season against Hagerstown and Union City.
