Boys Varsity Track, Coed Varsity Track · Stanley, Reece Dominate in 3rd-place Sectional Finish

Richmond track finished Sectional in third place Thursday night.

Junior Jermayne Stanley had a banner night, taking first place in the 100 meter dash (11.32 seconds) and 200 meter dash (23.25 seconds). Sophomore Teddy Sumling joined him in the 100 meter dash with a third-place 11.42 seconds. The two make up half of the sectional-winning 4×100 meter relay (44.29 seconds), joined by freshman Gage Puterbaugh and senior Kody Reece.

Reece followed this up with individual regional qualifications in the long jump (2nd place, 19′ 8.5″) and 400 meter dash (2nd place, 52.92 seconds). Reece also qualified as a member of the 4×400 meter relay (3:36.63) alongside junior Julian Holguin, sophomore Vincent Narcisse, and junior Alec Snedigar.

The 4×800 meter relay also qualified for regional in third place (8:46.11). Snedigar will be joined by seniors Derick Casiano, Tristan Kier, and Luis Vivanco.

Casiano also grabbed a point with eighth-place finish in the 800 meter run (2:18.36). Sophomore Josh Jones scored twice with a 5th-place 1600 meter run finish (4:54.56) and 6th-place 3200 meter run finish (10:48.93). Junior Devon Deloney scored a point with his eigth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles (17.70 seconds).

The boys who qualified for regional return to action next Thursday (5/24) at 6:00 PM at Franklin Community High School.
