KOKOMO – Richmond could not hold a late lead in a 41-36 loss at North Central Conference foe Kokomo on Friday night at Memorial Gymnasium.
Points were at a premium, but the Red Devils (8-11, 3-3 NCC) twice led in the closing minutes. However, the host Wildkats were able to scrape by with the win.
Senior Jalen Hillard continued his hot shooting, going a perfect 3-of-3 from 3-point range to lead the Devils with 12 points.
Indiana All-Star candidate Lucas Kroft chipped in 11 points in his return to the lineup. Kroft also added three rebounds and two blocked shots as he was back on the floor for the first time since a January game at Muncie Central.
Koream Jett added eight points, two rebounds, and two assists for Richmond, who returns to conference play tonight when they are at Tiernan Center against conference-leading Logansport. The junior varsity action tips at 6 p.m.
