The Richmond Red Devils track and field team hosted a dominating team from East Central last night, and the Trojans ran their way to victory.
The Lady Red Devils struggled without some key performers last night. Those that were able to contribute were: Khalidah Hickson placing third in the 100m hurdles, Nakala Bennett took second in the 100m dash and third in the 400m dash. Jayci Allen received third in the 300m hurdles and second in the high jump. Tamia Hampton broke into scoring with third in the 200m dash. Brigitte Reynolds found her first points of the season placing second in the 3200m run. Rounding out the events was Molly O’Brien with third in the discus.
The boys side continues to see small improvements. Owen Rogers took second in both 110m and 300m hurdle events. Gage Puterbaugh and Julian Holguin took second and third in the 100m dash as well as first and second in the 200m dash. Josh Jones placed second in the 1600m and 3200m runs. Alec Snedigar and Darius Hogg were first and third in the 400m dash. RJ Thalls picked up third place in the 800m run. Koream Jett saw his first win in the high jump as well as second in his first attempt at the long jump. Sekaye Maitland long jumped into third.
The varsity team will travel on Saturday to the Marion Relays and then will host Franklin County on Tuesday.
The IS team dominated the South Dearborn invite this past Monday. Go see them in action tonight at Union City or Monday in Muncie. The future is bright!
