RHS senior Mikey Vance signs letter of intent to play baseball at Ivy Tech – Fort Wayne

May 22, 2019 RICHMOND, INDIANA – Scott “Mikey” Vance III signed his letter of intent to play baseball at the collegiate level Tuesday, May 21. Vance will be joining the Ivy Tech Fort Wayne Titans. He will be majoring in accounting.

Vance has been a four year member of the Red Devil Varsity Baseball program.
“I chose Ivy Tech because Fort Wayne is the 2nd largest city in Indiana,” said Vance. “It’s a very nice campus. It’s also great that three of my fellow seniors will also be attending colleges in Fort Wayne.” RHS seniors Josiah Sizemore will also be playing baseball at Ivy Tech –Fort Wayne. RHS seniors Brice Brown and Phillip Hobbs will be playing baseball for the Indiana Tech Warriors.

“Mikey playing collegiate baseball at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne is going to be a great opportunity for him,” said RHS head baseball coach Shawn Turner. “It’s also a testament to see how our student athletes are succeeding in Richmond Community Schools.”

Vance signed the letter in front of his parents, family, coaches and teammates at Richmond’s McBride Stadium. Vance is the son of Scott Vance II and Kasey Vance of Richmond.
