Multiple Teams · IS XC- Boys/Girls Both Finish 3rd at Delta Invite


On September 28th, the Richmond Middle School cross-country team competed in the Delta Invitational. The boys’ team had a fantastic showing finishing 3rd out of 16 teams. The girls also had a great performance finishing 3rd out of 10 teams.

For the boys, Jaime Pegg finished 9th with a PR of 11:39. Alex barely missed the top ten finishing 13th in a PR time of 11:43. The boys team also achieved a huge feat this weekend by qualifying for state as a team. The qualifying time for the team (top 5 total times) to make state was 01:01:15. The Richmond boys finished in 1:00:24. This gives Richmond the opportunity to send 10 middle school cross-country boys to compete at the state meet on Saturday, October 5th.

In the girls’ race, Keena Barker finished first for the Richmond team and 6th overall. Jackie Orihuela ran another PR this weekend with a 13:42. Jackie placed 15th and was the first 5th grader to finish the race. Sophie Reising and Katy Peacock stepped up and both ran big PRs this race which helped put the team in 3rd place overall.
