Richmond’s rally on “Silent Night” fell short as Indianapolis Tech improved to 2-0 in the NCC with a 61-57 at Tiernan Center.
The Red Devils (2-3, 0-2 NCC) raced to a 10-2 lead to open the game, sparking the student section to a raucous outburst. But Tech recovered, building a 6-point lead at the half.
With three Richmond starters on the bench in the third quarter with four fouls apiece, the Red Devils trimmed the deficit to one point before Tech answered with a 3-pointer. Richmond cut the lead to a single possession multiple times in the fourth, but the Titans held on for the win.
Senior Koream Jett led the Red Devils with a game-high 21 points, while Cleevas Craig had 19 points and 18 rebounds.
Richmond returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Connersville to face the unbeaten Spartans.
The Red Devil junior varsity dominated the second half of its 59-38 win against Tech. Dorain Hill had 12 points, while Chase Newton chipped in 11 points.
