The Richmond Women’s Swimming and Diving team lit Connersville on fire with the heat they brought to the Invitational on December 20th. The Red Devil girls fought their way through competition such as that of East Central and Connersville Swimming and Diving teams while missing a number of swimmers and divers due to illness and injury.
The Red Devil Girls ensured they had the last word before the New Years by traveling to New Castle to lay claim to their victory the day before Christmas Eve. Holiday spirit was sure in the air after a dominating 101-79 win over the New Castle Girls. The Richmond girls were able to win five events with swimmers Lauren Carr, Heaven Stephens, and Hannah Trotter securing first place in individual events and the 200 Freestyle Relay composed of Foote, Kaiser, Bohn, and Casiano leading Richmond to the front.
The Lady Devils ended their Christmas Break at the Braves Invitational taking on a number of Ohio Teams at Miami University. Best times by Heaven Stephens with a 2:19.92 in the 200 Freestyle and a 1:03.60 in the 100 Freestyle, Avery Bohn in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 7:11.99, and Amanda Wolfe with a time of 1:30.28 in the 100 Breaststroke lead the way through this competition.
The knowledge and times accrued through the winter competition has paved the road to Purdue University where the Red Devils prepare to take on the North Central Conference on January 11th.
