A big competition in a fast pool inevitably paved the road for fast times this past weekend at NCC. The Red Devil Boys made the trip to Purdue University on the 11th worth it by bagging a total of 21 personal bests while delivering a 4th place finish among the greats of the North Central Conference.
Nearly every swimmer and diver saw a time drop with Ben Quinn swimming a 2:02.58 200 IM to clutch 2nd place along with Cayden Lindahl turning in a 2:15.85. Your Richmond Men saw triple bests in the 200 Freestyle with a staggering 1:54.95 from the incumbent Josh Jones, a 2:07.50 from Brandon Mooney, and a 2:17.12 from Sam Bowersock. Good things apparently come in threes as we also saw triple bests in the 100 Fly with a 59.15 courtesy of Landon Smith, a 1:12.35 by Jakin Hoffer, and an edging 1:11.45 by Preston Bolser. The speedy weekend continued at the will of sprinters Harrison Frame and Dustin Wilson turning in times of 23.99 and 22.67 in the 50 Freestyle and 54.41 and 50.41 in the 100 Freestyle, respectively. And diver Jaxon Bohn secured 4th in diving with an 11 dive score of 279.50.
It was a dominating weekend with multiple Red Devils getting comfortable on the podium while representing the Red and White back home.
The boys return home to tackle the Muncie Burris Owls on Tuesday the 14th at 6:00 while honoring the team’s seniors with Senior Night.
