🎾 RED DEVILS TENNIS | FINAL Richmond opened the season Tuesday night with a highly competitive match against New Castle, falling 3-2. The final score doesn’t tell the entire story. Every varsity match was competitive for at least one set, showing significant progress from last season’s 4-1 loss to New Castle. At No. 1 singles, Xander Harrick picked up right where he left off last fall, turning in a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory. Richmond’s No. 1 doubles team of James Scherer and Mason Wetzel delivered one of the biggest moments of the night. After winning the opening set 6-4, they dropped a second-set tiebreaker 6-8 after holding match point. Scherer and Wetzel responded by winning the deciding 10-point tiebreaker, 10-7, to secure Richmond’s second varsity point.
