🎾 RED DEVILS TENNIS | NCC RESULTS Richmond Boys Tennis split a pair of North Central Conference matches Saturday at Lafayette Jefferson, earning another dramatic 3-2 victory before battling state-ranked Kokomo. RICHMOND 3 | LAFAYETTE JEFFERSON 2 CLUTCH AGAIN! For the third time this season, Richmond found itself in a match that came down to one deciding point — and for the third time, the Red Devils delivered. With the team score tied 2-2, Miguel Mira-Galeano and Samuel Diaz Forero provided the heroics at doubles. Tied 4-4 in the third set, the Richmond duo closed out a gutsy 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 victory to secure the team win. Xander Harrick continued his strong season at No. 1 singles with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory. Tej Patel added another three-set win at No. 3 singles. After dropping the second set, Patel responded with a dominant final set to win 6-4, 1-6, 6-0. Richmond is now 3-0 this season in team matches decided by the final point! KOKOMO 4 | RICHMOND 1 The Red Devils faced a major challenge in their second match against No. 18 state-ranked Kokomo. Harrick provided Richmond's victory with one of his strongest performances of the season. After dropping the opening set, he battled back to defeat a previously unbeaten opponent, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1. Despite the final team score, the Red Devils continued to battle against one of the state's top teams. NEXT UP Richmond continues its stretch against sectional opponents: 📅 Monday, August 31 — vs. Lincoln | 5:00 PM 📅 Tuesday, September 1 — vs. Centerville | 6:30 PM Both matches will be played on the road.
