Congratulations to Richmond senior Cale Newton, named the ESPN Radio WKBV / G101.3 / Wetzel Auto Group Wayne County Athlete of the Week! Cale has put together an outstanding start to the 2026 Cross Country season for the Red Devils. 2026 ACCOMPLISHMENTS SO FAR: • 4th Place – THS Valley Kickoff | 16:52.3 • 1st Place – Richmond Hare & Hound Invitational | 16:22.69 • Helped Richmond win the Hare & Hound Team Championship • 1st Place Overall – Rushville Classic Invitational | 16:19.91 • Helped Richmond win the Rushville Classic Large School Division Championship • 1st Place – Wayne County Invitational | 16:10.69 • Wayne County Individual Champion • Helped Richmond win the Wayne County Team Championship • Three consecutive individual race victories • Season-best time of 16:10.69 Cale has been a major part of Richmond’s outstanding start, helping the Red Devils capture three consecutive team championships while establishing himself as one of the area’s top runners.
