RICHMOND FOOTBALL | FINAL LAFAYETTE JEFF 49 RICHMOND 10 Richmond opened North Central Conference play Friday night on the road, falling to Lafayette Jefferson, 49-10. The Red Devils generated 316 yards of total offense, with 264 coming on the ground. Richmond ran 65 offensive plays, picked up 16 first downs and matched Lafayette Jeff with two turnovers. RED DEVIL HIGHLIGHTS Thomas Stargell led the offense with 119 rushing yards on 20 carries while adding 52 yards passing and a touchdown. Tyziyah Stubbs provided an explosive performance on the ground, rushing for 108 yards on just five carries, including a 67-yard run. D. Armstead hauled in a 40-yard touchdown reception. Richmond's offense produced 10 second-quarter points but was unable to add to the total in the second half.
