⚽ BOYS SOCCER SECTIONAL FINAL RICHMOND 0 | MUNCIE CENTRAL 2 RED DEVILS CLOSE OUT 2026 SEASON WITH A HARD-FOUGHT SECTIONAL BATTLE The Richmond Red Devils saw their 2026 season come to an end Wednesday evening with a 2-0 loss to Muncie Central in the opening round of IHSAA Sectional 8 at Hamilton Southeastern. Richmond delivered what Coach Carson Jones described as the team's best half of soccer all season, putting together an outstanding first-half performance against a strong Muncie Central defense. Despite creating opportunities, the Red Devils were unable to find the back of the net. Muncie Central broke through with two goals early in the second half, but Richmond refused to back down. The Red Devils continued to compete, showing determination and effort until the final whistle. While the result wasn't what Richmond had hoped for, the performance reflected the resilience and competitive spirit this team demonstrated throughout the season. As the 2026 campaign comes to a close, Richmond Athletics would like to thank Coach Jones, the coaching staff, and every player for their commitment and dedication to the program. A special thank you to our seniors for their leadership, contributions, and the pride they have shown representing Richmond High School. The season may be over, but the work, memories, and lessons will carry forward. THANK YOU, RED DEVILS! #RichmondRedDevils #RedDevilSoccer #RHSAthletics #BoysSoccer #IHSAA #Sectional8 #WeRRichmond #SIDKLH
