Welcome to Tiger Country
The moment that the Test Tigers strode off the bus and into the cavernous Hagerstown volleyball venue there was no doubt that the Tigers would win both the 7th and 8th grade competitions. The hometown Hagerstown Tigers were poised to defend their home court and the visiting Test Tigers had every intension of earning a victory. The question was, “Could the Tigers tame the Tigers?”
The 7th grade Test Tigers answered that query very quickly. Abby Nessesary stepped up the service line for the first serve of the evening and the onslaught was on. She quickly served eight consecutive points. The point spread grew even wider when Aubree Falcone jumped into the fray. Her consistency from the end line added eleven more points and the Hagerstown faithful quickly realized it was their Tigers who were about to be tamed. A final score of 25-7 set the tone for the evening.
Set two of the matchup provided an opportunity for the Test Tigers to display great team balance and consistency. Karma Nichols rattled off six points, Hylie Bradburn added four and Addy Crass tallied another three. The combined team effort resulted in a 25-24 victory for the visiting Test Tigers. The most interesting statistic is that the young Tigers missed only one serve, of the fifty that they attempted for the entire match. Currently 4-0 for the season, the Tigers are prepped for next up on the docket, the Knights of Northeastern.
