Trojans Trump Tigers
The 7th grade Tigers from Test walked into the gym a New Castle and knew a win would be a tall order. The Trojans were a tall team with good volleyball skills. It was also their tenth match of the season. This was quite a contrast to the one match of experience that the Tigers were bringing to the court.
The match was interesting from the perspective that the team who could serve the ball in the court would score the point. It was very clear that the success of either team was going to be determined at the service line. Six service errors by the Tigers ultimately proved to be their downfall. They dropped set one 25-18. A highlight of the first set was the serving of Neveah Rice who put five consecutive serves into the court with no errors.
The second game of the match was much better from the service line with the Tigers only committing three service errors. Again, Neveah Rice led the way. She had no errors and scored three points in her serving opportunities. The final score of 25-15 in favor of the Trojans gave the junior Tigers their first loss of the season.
The Tigers look to return to their winning ways with a match up at Muncie Northside on Wednesday evening.
