The Test Tigers were back in action on Monday after a long break as they traveled to Northeastern to face the Knights. The Knights poor shooting and Test good defense got the Tigers out to an early 10 point lead which they maintained through 3 quarters of play.
Then shortly into the fourth quarter the Knights Keaton Mikesell hit a couple of 3’s along with a 3 from Chase Cates which put the Knights right back in the game. That’s when the dog fight for possessions got intense.
Now tied at 28 with less than a minute in regulation Gunner Kovach had a timely block to keep it tied up. This one’s going to overtime.
O.T. started with a Sam Reising basket (4 total point in O.T.) but trading baskets with the Knights was only going to prove that whoever has the last possession would probably be victorious.
With only seconds left on the clock and the Tigers down by 3, the Tigers couldn’t get the ball into an area for a high quality shot and fell to the Knights 36 – 39.
Scoring contributions for the Tigers had Sam Reising leading the team with 11 points, Gunner Kovach had 8, Drew VanVleet with 6, Anthony Cross had 5 , Nick Whalen added 4 , and Jaylon Hempill rounding it out with 2.
Thursday night the Tigers are back in action against the Dennis Bulldogs at the Tiernan Center for the rematch. Good Luck Tigers, GO TEST!
