Walk-Off Seals Win For Franklin County Against Richmond Red Devils
A walk-off left Richmond Red Devils Varsity on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to Franklin County on Tuesday. The game was tied at eight with Franklin County batting in the bottom of the seventh when #12 singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Despite the loss, Richmond Red Devils did collect 13 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Franklin County had 12 hits on the way to victory.
Franklin County fired up the offense in the first inning. Franklin County scored one run when #22 singled.
#11 got the win for Franklin County. The bulldog surrendered six runs on eight hits over two and a third innings, striking out two and walking one.
Colton Fox took the loss for Richmond. Fox went two and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out two and walking zero.
#5 started the game for Franklin County. The pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five.
Casey Blevins started the game for Richmond Red Devils Varsity. The pitcher surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out seven
Richmond racked up 13 hits on the day. John Carter, Hayden Scalf, Blevins, and Nick Whalen all managed multiple hits the Red Devils. Whalen, Blevins, Scalf, and Carter each collected two hits to lead Richmond.
The Red Devils tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Jackson Holland led the way with two.
