Richmond Red Devils Can’t Hold Up Against Franklin County
Richmond Red Devils had trouble keeping up with Franklin County in a 14-1 loss on Saturday.
The Red Devils got things started in the first inning. Colton Fox drew a walk, scoring one run.
Franklin County pulled away for good with ten runs in the second inning. In the second #12 singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, #8 was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, #4 drew a walk, scoring one run, #11 singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, #9 doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, #2 singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and #12’s sac fly scored two runs for Franklin County.
#8 led the Franklin County to victory on the hill. The Bulldog lasted five innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five.
James Weigel took the loss for Richmond. The pitcher allowed six hits and eight runs over one inning.
Jackson Holland led Richmond with three hits in three at bats. Richmond tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Holland led the way with two.
