Richmond gains confidence as they come away from the Union County Invitational in 2nd place and season best 347.
Andrew Click has shown a lot of promise these last two years, but has struggled to put it all together. This season, he went through a tough stretch where he was battling the dreaded “shanks” for nearly a month. To Andrew’s credit, the young man never gave up and kept working hard to gain his swing, and more importantly, his confidence back.
Fast forward to Tuesday at a tough Liberty County Club, Andrew walked away with a big smile and his head held high. His hard work and determination paid off in a big way as he shot a career best 81, including a scorching back-9 score of 39.
Andrew has been a great representation of the Richmond Boys Golf team this year. The season has not gone according to plan as the team has struggled. However, just like Click, the team has continued to fight hard and to remain focused on their goal of a sectional championship.
They took a big step towards that goal as they finished in 2nd place to host school Union County. Jake Miller finished in 2nd individually and looked comfortable and happy with his swing after struggling on the front 9.
The team shot a 337, but due to an unfortunate scoring error had to DQ a golfer.
Richmond will be hosting the Sectional Preview at Forest Hills on Thursday before hosting the Sectional at Forest Hills on Monday.
