Richmond’s Joe Moehring Invitational was held at the Elks County Club this last Saturday. For a second straight weekend, Richmond fired a 350, good enough for a 6th place finish in a stacked field.
Heritage Christian took first place with a 319, a very impressive score with an Elks that was playing very long.
Fellow NCC member, Muncie Central, finished second with a 323 and Westfield JV rounded out the top three with a 334.
Even with a 6th place finish, Richmond walked away with several high notes.
Sophomore Jack Weber tied his career best with an 86.
Freshman Alex Brown continued his strong start with a career low 91.
Second year player Nathan Steele fired a career low 94.
These three, with leader Jake Miller (79) combined to shoot the teams second straight 350. A mark the team wants to be a benchmark for their highest score for the rest of the season.
Andrew Click wrapped up the varsity team scores with a 106.
For the first time in several years, Richmond fielded a JV team as well. The JV shot a 469, which included the scores of five players (four freshman) getting their first high school experience.
