East Central High School vs Richmond High School
46 56

Your Richmond Red Devil Men’s Swimming and Diving team made history this past weekend in a double dual meet against the East Central Trojans and the Arsenal Tech Titans. Swiftly defeating the Titans in a manner comparable to that at Conference, the Devils switched their attention to East Central, facing them head to head for the first time in three years. After a long Saturday morning full of fast swimming and precise diving, the Red Devils walked away with a 56-46 win over the EC Trojans; delivering them their first loss in over three seasons.
Your Richmond Red Devils saw double best times in the 50 Freestyle by Freshmen Kelly Kerstetter with a 31.27 and Jesse Lane at 32.37. Landon Smith grabbed first place in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.89. While the boys also dominated the 100 Freestyle with best times by RJ Thalls (58.10), Preston Bolser (1:00.40), Jesse Lane (1:12.99), and Luke Davis (1:19.83). The powerful second half continued with clutch swims in the 100 Backstroke by Smith at 1:01.51 and Sam Bowersock at a 1:10.30.
A powerful win on the Devil’s last home meet of the season sent a message of the competitiveness and dominance Richmond displays in the pool to their future opponents. The Red Devils look to close out their season on that same note at Hagerstown on Thursday the 23rd.
