The Red Devils travelled to New Castle Tuesday evening to face the Trojans. Richmond gained control quick on a three pointer by senior Kenzie Wert. From there the Red Devils would keep the lead the rest of the evening. First quarter would end in a 10-5 score in Richmond’s favor rolling into the second. Richmond continued to extend their lead behind three assists from Ajah Orr to Alayha Allen on the right block for a six-point spurt. They would be up ten going into the locker room.

Coming out of half, New Castle looked to slow Richmond down. A technical was called on a Richmond player, giving two freebies to the Trojans and a possession back. New Castle continued to zone on defense, causing the Red Devils to settle for outside jumpers that just weren’t falling. The Trojans outscored the Red Devils by one point in the third behind junior Maddy Meek’s second half performance. Despite their efforts, Richmond would turn up the pressure and close out the game going on a 17 – 8 run before bringing the bench in for the last two minutes of varsity action. Richmond would go on to win the game 45-28.

Richmond provided balanced scoring throughout the night. Jayci Allen led scorers with 12 followed by Lotz with 11, A. Allen with 10, Orr and Wert both with 6. Alayha Allen led on the boards with 9 followed by Lotz with 8. They will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Marion to take on the Giants.
