Saturday the Red Devils traveled to Logansport to take on the Berries. After superb shooting by the Berries, the Red Devils found themselves down by eight at the end of the first quarter. Despite a run made by Richmond in the second quarter, Logansport continued their roll connecting on a total of nine 3 pointers in the first half. They gained a 12 point lead on the Red Devils going into half time.
Going into the third, the Red Devils defense stepped up and limited the Berries shot attempts from behind the arc. Despite their defensive work, the Red Devils were unable to connect on their own shot attempts in the third quarter.
Heading into the fourth, Richmond trailed by 13. As Richmond tightened up their defense, their offense also started to fall into place. Senior Kierra Wright connected on two of four 3 balls late in the fourth. Sophomore Ajah Orr also stepped up big time scoring 7 of her 16 points late.
Although the Red Devils made an impressive run, their efforts could not overcome the Berries lead. The final result was 59-45 in favor of Logansport.
Richmond is back in action on Tuesday against the Union City Indians at home.
