The Red Devils won their home game against Jay County with a score of 10-8 after making a comeback in the 6th inning.
Richmond had a rough start that followed throughout the game. After 4 innings of not scoring, The Red Devils were losing in the top half of the 5th inning 0-8.
However, freshmen Dajsha Burgess and Madison Owens were able to obtain 2 runs in the 5th inning.
The 6th inning became the turning point for Richmond during the game. Seniors Shylah Gibson, Joanna Bowery, Claira Laughlin (courtesy runner freshman Sara Matthews), sophomore Abby Brewer, and freshmen Laurelai Depew, Kinsey Bosell, and Burgess all scored 1 run each. This would allow for Richmond to take the lead with a score of 9-8.
The top of the 7th inning was tense, with the score being so close between the two teams. With 2 outs and the bases loaded, it all came down to the next batter. The batter ended up hitting the ball to the outfield where Owens would catch it, ending the game with Richmond winning.
