Purple Tigers Cage Purple Tigers
Hagerstown invaded the Test Coliseum and the Tigers slew the Tigers in a close, competitive battle for Wayne County supremacy. Unfortunately, the Tigers on the defeated end of the outcome were the young Test Tigers. Self-induced serving woes brought about their downfall in a match that was extremely close. Eight missed serves proved to be the difference between winning and losing each of the games that the Tigers lost.
Game one was a hard fought back and forth battle with neither team being able to create separation from the competitor. Throughout the game, the largest separation was a three point advantage held by Test. This gap was quickly closed and Hagerstown evened to score at 17-17. Both teams traded sideouts three times dead locking the score at 20-20. Two points by Talia Eliton put Test up 22-20 and a missed serve opened the door for Hagerstown. Five consecutive points by the visiting Tigers ended the first game confrontation 25-20.
The second game was a replica of the first. Both teams were working to get ahead with neither team being very successful. One point separations were the norm with the teams alternating who was ahead. This continued all the way to a 24-24 tie. A missed serve by Test and a point by Hagerstown ended the game and match at 26-24. That makes the Test Tiger 7th graders 2-2 on the season with a matchup at Northeastern on Monday night. Go TIGERS!
